Discover Clearwater Beach
2.5 miles of white sand. Crystal-clear Gulf water. Consistently ranked the #1 beach in America by TripAdvisor and named one of the "15 Best White-Sand Beaches in the World" by Travel + Leisure. The rankings aren't wrong.
What Sets Clearwater Beach Apart
This is a barrier island, connected to the mainland by the Memorial Causeway — the "Million Dollar Causeway" built in 1927. Pier 60 extends 1,080 feet into the Gulf and hosts a daily sunset celebration that's been running since 1995: artisans, street performers, musicians, all centered on watching the sun drop into the water.
The Beach Walk promenade (completed 2008) creates a pedestrian zone with resorts and restaurants along the waterfront. It's a luxury destination that still feels like a beach town.
Where to Start
- Pier 60 area — The heart of the beach. Sunset celebrations, playground, fishing, casual dining.
- Beach Walk — Pedestrian promenade connecting hotels and upscale restaurants.
