Posting Events on Downtown+
Whether you're hosting a grand opening, community fundraiser, Gasparilla celebration, game day watch party, or weekly gathering, here's how to share your event with Tampa.
Who Can Post Events?
Events can be posted by:
- Anyone - Guest submissions allowed (no account required)
- Business owners with claimed profiles
- Individual professionals with profiles
- Community organizers and cultural organizations
- Event hosts and sponsors
Guest vs. Account Posting
Post as Guest (No Account Required):
- Submit events at the public contribution page
- Longer review process (2-3 business days standard)
- Cannot edit after submission
Post with Account (Recommended):
- Faster review times (may be auto-approved)
- Edit and update events anytime
- Personal dashboard to manage all events
Creating Your Event
For Guests: Visit the public contribution page and click "Add Event"
For Account Holders: From your Dashboard, click "Add Event" on the Events card
Required Event Information
Basic Details:
- Event name/title
- Brief description
- Event category/tags
Date & Time:
- Start date and time
- End date and time
- OR recurring schedule ("Every Thursday at 7pm")
Location:
- Venue name or address
- Note proximity to Riverwalk, Ybor, or major venues if relevant
Optional But Recommended
Extended Information:
- Long description with full details
- Parking information (especially during Gasparilla or game days)
- Accessibility details
Registration:
- Website or RSVP link
- Ticketing information
Visual Content:
- Event poster or promotional image
