Creating Your Business Profile on Downtown+
Ready to showcase your Tampa business? Here's everything you need to know about creating a professional profile on Downtown+.
Prerequisites
You'll need a Downtown+ account to create a business profile. Visit the Contribute page to sign in or create an account.

Creating Your Business Profile
From your Dashboard:
Step 1: Click "Add Profile"
- On the Profiles card, click "Add Profile"
- A modal will appear asking you to choose profile type
Step 2: Select "Business Profile"
- Choose "Business Profile" from the options
- You'll be redirected to the business profile creation form
Step 3: Fill Out Your Business Information
- Complete all required fields (see below)
- Add optional information for better visibility
- Upload photos and media
Step 4: Submit for Review
- Review your information for accuracy
- Click "Submit"
- High-quality profiles may be approved immediately, or sent for review (2-4 business days)
Required Information
Required Fields:
- Business name
- Business type (restaurant, retail, service, etc.)
- Physical address
- At least one category tag (multiple categories allowed)
- Brief description (150 characters maximum)
- Main profile image (your logo or storefront photo)
Optional But Recommended
Contact Information:
- Phone number
- Email address
- Website URL
- Secondary address
Operating Hours:
- Regular business hours by day
- Special hours or "Always Open" option
- Custom hours text for complex schedules
- Note game day or Gasparilla season variations if applicable
Additional Information:
- Extended description (up to 1000 characters)
- Social media links (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
Tampa-Specific Tips
Highlight Your Location:
- Mention your neighborhood (Ybor City, Hyde Park, Channelside, SoHo, Tampa Heights)
- Note proximity to Tampa Riverwalk or Bayshore Boulevard
- Reference nearby landmarks like Amalie Arena, Raymond James Stadium, or the Straz Center
After Submission
Your submission will receive one of three statuses:
- Approved – High-quality profiles are approved immediately and go live right away
- Pending Review – Some submissions require manual verification (typically 2-4 business days)
- Rejected – Submissions with issues are declined with a reason provided

Write a Compelling Description:
- Explain what makes your business unique
- Include your specialties and services
- Use keywords customers might search for
- Keep it conversational and authentic
Choose Great Photos:
- Use high-quality, well-lit images
- Show your space, products, or services
- Include your team if appropriate
- Update photos seasonally
Keep Information Current:
- Keep business hours up to date
- Add new services or products as they become available
- Refresh photos regularly
